On the authority of the Mother of the Believers, Umm ʿAbd Allāh ʿĀʾisha, may Allah be pleased with her, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Whoever introduces into this affair of ours something that is not of it, it is rejected. And in a narration of Muslim: Whoever does a deed that is not in accordance with our affair, it is rejected.
